Southern Surgical Group, Pat Weitzel

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pat now calls Lexington, South Carolina her home. She has been in the healthcare field since 1972, when she began her career working as a Secretary to the Director of Pharmacy at Bethesda Hospital and remained with them until 1977, when she began her other career of raising a family.

In 1978 she began working with Upjohn Healthcare in Cincinnati as their Scheduling Coordinator for their Private Duty/Home Care Division. She remained with them until 1985.

In 1986 she then began working as a Medical Assistant for a large Pediatric Practice in Cincinnati. She remained with them until she moved to Paducah, Kentucky in 1989, where she again worked as a Medical Assistant for another Pediatric Practice until 1991.

In 1991 she moved to Gainesville, Florida and began working with AVMED SANTA FE/Alliance Medical Practices. She worked in various offices that were owned and operated by AVMED, such as the Urgent Care, Family Practice, and Women’s Health. She worked with AVMED from 1991 until 1997.

In 1997 Pat began working with Shands Healthcare/University of Florida in their off site Imaging Center, where she worked their Front Office and was responsible for training/orientation of new employees that were hired to work the Front Office of the Imaging Center.

In 1999, she accepted a new position with Shands Healthcare /University of Florida as their Guest Services Coordinator for the Executive Health Center which was in the ground breaking stages. This is an office where physicals for executives are performed in the same day and results reported back to the patients in the same day.

In 2000, Pat moved to Columbia, South Carolina and accepted a position with Southern Surgical Group, llc in March of 2001.

In 2004, Southern Surgical Group became a part of Lexington Medical Center and Pat is currently employed through Southern Surgical Group and Lexington Medical Center.
