Dr. Norton is a West Columbia, South Carolina native with strong community roots. An honor graduate of Lexington High School, he attended the University of South Carolina Honors College and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.

Dr. Norton’s surgical residency training was completed at the University Medical Center of Eastern Carolina/East Carolina School of Medicine, and included a research fellowship in Cardiothoracic/Vascular surgery. Dr. Norton’s interest and expertise in a wide variety of surgical procedures, including advanced techniques in vascular, endovascular, thoracic, laparoscopic and general surgery, have resulted in a wide array of honors and awards. His extensive publications list reflects his dedication to ongoing, leading-edge training, research and discovery, making him greatly respected in the surgical field.
Dr. Norton has extensive post-graduate training such as the Stanford/Fogarty endovascular course (AneuRx Graft training), the Arizona Hearth Institute endovascular training (AneuRx Graft training), the Cordis endovascular course, the Cook-Zenith endograft training course/Ochsner Clinic, All Thag Jazz endovascular training, the Sanctuary of Endovascular therapy training, the VNUS vein therapy course, Duke University's minimally-invasive thoracic surgery course, the Medical College of Georgia's minimally-invasive thyroid/parathyroid course and the Bard Herman repair training course.
He is certified by and a fellow with the American Board of Surgery. He also belongs to the American College of Surgeons, the International Society of Endovascular Surgeons, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the SC Medical Association, the Lexington Medical Association, the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound Certification.
